Our second son was born this past Monday at 7:49am, weighing 6 lbs., 5 oz., and measuring 19.75”.

Just…wow.  😀

There was a moment of profound sadness as I ached to call Dad and share the joy with him, but I know that he already loved little Daniel Oscar deeply, simply knowing he was coming soon.

We’ve spent a great week with our quiet little man, trying to get used to the two (three if we’re lucky) stretches of sleep and his unique squeaky cry when he’s hungry.  For those of you with two kids you know that the second seems familiar, almost routine – except for the details you’ve since forgotten.  The trembling bottom lip cry, their fragility, how SMALL babies are – they are revelations once again.

The nice thing is we’re not as nervous or anxious about our ability to take care of the little guy.  I’m already missing the days that have passed and looking ahead to how the brothers get along.
