…two days of rain followed by sun? The weekend!
Yeah…after a few weeks of simply stunning California weather, it’s been wet and chilly the last couple of days. You know when you just have one of those weeks when things bug you unnecessarily and you just don’t have that “let it roll off” vibe going? There is a lot of research on the effects of weather on mood – even the disorder du jour to give pharmaceutical companies a good tagline to push the latest anti-depressant or to rationalize another kid on Ritalin. But you know what, it really does cheese me off when I sit inside an office at a cubicle on clear days then have the weekend pass with clouds and rain. Is it a tragedy? Of course not. There are quite literally billions of people that would regard my life as one of unspeakable luxury, and I know and am thankful for that fact. I don’t worry about a home to come to, food for my family (my wife and cat do constitute a family, yes) and thankfully the health of my loves ones is good. My life is amazing – I have a lovely, kind, creative, funny, clever wife, wonderful, humble and supportive in-laws, fun, happy, and super-Mom big sister, two parents that got through hard times without ever missing a single soccer game, recital or event and a cat that is trained to sit properly before getting her food. Yep. My life is really pretty damn amazing.
But I still wish the weather didn’t suck on weekends. (how those guys in Seattle do it I’ll never know)
