Kickin’ like Chicken!

Well folks, I’ve been a little busy. Not as bad as Mom (who despite the crush of work and other stuff found some time to play Ms. Pac Man at the Santa Cruz boardwalk in June!) but a little rambunctious nonetheless.

First of all I’ve been lousy at updating the blog, even though lots has been going on.  After a rough first trimester of making Mom nauseous, I then got my comeuppance by being bounced around during weeks of coughing.  Poor Mom got a nasty cold followed by an even nastier cough that kept her up nights.  It was not fun, but thankfully it passed.

We’ve also been figuring out a new home!  Instead of the nice apartment that…well, where I started this journey, my debut will be in a condo in Santa Clara.  The parents have been running around like crazy getting everything ready and Mom has been swamped with work on top of it.  The blog, unfortunately, had to take a back seat.

The good news is kicking.  Not World Cup kicking (especially the way Brazil played…I hope they’re better when I see them as a toddler!) but my own.  Yep – the last few days I’ve been trying out my legs (and arms too, I suppose) by bonking around in Mom’s tummy.  She’s noticed, although Dad hasn’t quite been able to get the timing right and I always seem to calm down just as he touches the belly.  He did, however, get to hear my quick little heartbeat last week.  There’s nothing quite like hearing the “whoosh-whoosh” on the doppler to get Dad all emotional.  Both of the parents are anxious for the 18th of July – that’s when I’m getting an ultrasound.   Maybe one question will be answered…

We’re also happy to hear that our friends Jen and Barry are expecting a new baby right around when I’m getting here.  Boy or girl is still a mystery to our mutual families, but I’m sure friendship will follow into the next generation.

That’s all for now.  All this bouncing and writing has me ready for bed.
