Just what the heck is the deal?  I mean, we struggle mightily to earn little green pieces of paper which we then give to other people (in their struggle for the same pieces of paper) so that they are compelled, encouraged, excited, obligated, happy, resentful or simply duty bound to do thing, give things or make things for us.  It’s a crazy cycle, but we keep doing it.  Some of us even spend most of our time between going to, coming from, thinking about, trying to find or hoping to leave the places that ultimately provide us with the green bits.  We even look for places that are better at giving us more of it so we can go to other places and give it to others.

Insanity.

And yet, despite this entirely odd reality that we all readily accept nobody seems particularly motivated to consider alternatives.  Myself included.  Nope, instead Mabel and I are trying to acquire a home though LOTS of the little green pieces of paper.  Around these parts a “starter” home costs about the same as a nice estate would in other places.  I mean, people toss around “half million” like it’s chump change.  Staggering.  Our potential new home is nicely located, has a great view and is hopefully not falling over in some undetectable way that eluded my observation.  Maybe.  Hopefully.  Wow.  Yikes.  I’ll let you know.
